Union Jack is a westside institution, and for good reason. They have a wide menu, but it's hard to get past their Chicago-style pizza, because it's just so fantastic. The crust is crisp and tasty, not too thick or "bready," and it's absolutely loaded with tasty toppings. Order a smaller pizza than you think you'll want, because these are LOADED, and be sure to get some of their magnificent breadsticks because they are not to be missed. I've also had their fish and chips, which were flawless -- the fish was fresh, moist and tender, the batter crisp and not too thick, and the chips were hot, crisp on the outside, creamy on the inside, and not greasy. Unfortunately for the fish and chips, it's HARD to bypass that pizza!

My only critique of Union Jack's is that there are often obnoxiously noisy groups detracting from the casual, friendly atmosphere. We've also occasionally waited unnoticed at the entrance for a while before someone finally saw us and showed us to a table, but that's the only complaint I've ever had with the service there. Do not miss this Speedway treasure, and be sure to bring a huge appetite!

I am pleasantly surprised.  A co-worker recommended this place to me today.  It's right around the corner from my apartment.  I have driven past it hundreds of times and never stopped in.
I started with the shrimp cocktail appetizer.  Was a tasty cocktail sauce, but I would like the consistency to be a little more fluid.  Very good flavor though.
I am currently trying to devour this 10" deluxe pizza with Chicago style crust.  I've never been to Chicago and had pizza, but I am familiar with this style of crust.  This is the best one I've had so far.  The crust is crisp and buttery.  Not heavy like I expected.  The toppings taste pretty fresh as well.  I am impressed.  I will be back.
I also sampled a couple beers.  They have a pretty good selection of IPA's, crafts, imports, and ales.

So it's May, and two weeks before the Indy 500, and there's a race at Speedway and its being televised on NBC Sports Network and this place is in Speedway where you can hear the race outside but it's raining.

We arrived very early before 5pm but saw the paraphernalia on the walls. The race was on half of the big screens all over and it was somewhat quiet but we noticed patrons withPenske racing hats and heard folks talking about drivers on the track on the tv now and about the races of old they were part of.

Wish we knew more about racing because we definitely were in the presence of historic racers and teams while there but just don't know enough about it. So anyways if a classic cool place where local fans and drivers and teams of the Indy 500 meet up for a pint and good food is of interest then this is a must visit spot for visitors to Indy

Great appetizers, awesome environment with lots of  racing memorabilia. Nice and cozy. The pizza is handmade and delicious. It's been here since 1978 so it has to be doing something. I forgot to add that our service was top notch also!  I apologize to the Blonde haired waitress with a ponytail for not mentioning that before. I believe her name was Julie. Very friendly and attentive and helpful.

I've lived in the Speedway area for a couple years and I frequently pass by and see the neon car spinning above the sign, always piquing my curiosity. I was craving a good burger/pub fare, so I finally decided to give it a try.
I sat at the bar and could tell the place attracts a lot of regulars, which can be a good sign. Friendly staff from the get-go. I ordered one of my favorites: a patty melt (medium rare) with fries.  Came out in a timely manner despite being a Friday night. The bread was fresh and thick, the meat cooked to perfection, it was all so tasty!!  I was told they are known for their pizzas and burgers, so I will definitely be back to try a pizza!
